Swaddle Baby Blankets

Swaddling Tips

We receive a variety of questions from new moms (and dads!) about swaddling their newborn. Here are just a few tips that might answer questions you have:

1. You always want to avoid getting baby too hot in swaddle blanket, so in warmer weather, baby can be swaddled wearing just a diaper or onesie.

2. If you are looking for the perfect swaddle blankets for preemies, try our Newborn size SwaddleBaby®. It is meant for preemies, and newborns up to 1 or 2 months old.

3. You will always want to have an extra, clean SwaddleBaby® handy, because you will find that your baby and swaddle blanket will quickly become inseparable.

4. You will find that your SwaddleBaby® is very versatile for allowing you to use a variety of popular swaddling methods. Each SwaddleBaby® comes with very clear instructions and several swaddling methods and diagrams. Choose the method that works best for you and baby.

5. Breast feeding is often made easier when baby is swaddled. As noted by Susan Orr, RPT, CLC, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Columbia Pediatrics, “Swaddling is such an important calming measure to help the infant come back into a more organized state. SwaddleBaby® blankets have helped many of my clients help their infants transition easier to sleep at the end of a feeding. The ideal shape of the SwaddleBaby® blanket makes swaddling so much easier and keeps the baby from pulling out of the blanket.”

6. Generally you will find baby sleeping after swaddling in longer lengths of time. This extra sleep is a gift for mom and baby alike!

7. We can also help with clever baby shower ideas for gifts. How about a Newborn and Standard SwaddleBaby® to make swaddling really easy from birth through the older months when baby still benefits greatly from swaddling. Or, maybe you can package a Standard SwaddleBaby® and Dr. Karp’s “The Happiest Baby On The Block” book or dvd.
